On the Photo it looks like you have mid-malar fat pad flattening (also in some people congenital) - that fatty cushion supports naso-labial fold from above and if it is less developed then naso-labial area will start sliding and overhanging due to movements of face. Soft tissue thickness loss of the fold increases with age and exacerbates the problem.You can try fillers, your own fat, Sculptra or PDO treads.

Unfortunately, the only thing that will reduce nasolabial folds is either a mid facelift or fillers. The fillers are the only reasonable thing for you. You are right, however, that this can be tricky to do right. The problem is that there are quite a number of relatively unexperienced people doing this.
