Upper lip protruded after lip lift, why? (Photo)

Question

3 years ago I underwent a Lip lift. the result was unsatisfactory, the prolabio became too short less than 1 cm away and the proportions were ruined, especially the upper lip is too protruding compared to the lower one and the chin seems retruded. How could that happen. I've seen other lip lifts than aligned lips, why did this happen to me? what can i do to realign them?

This is the product of a generally older lip lift, which, unfortunately I see it all too frequently in my practice. The upper lip is gathered upwards towards the narrower nose, and the excess tissue bulk accumulates in the center. In contrast, the new 3-D lift elevates the lip via the 3 distinct layers (two of which are the orbicularis oris muscle) and attaches it to the periosteum lateral to the nose to give a more natural look. Based on your photos, your lip lift scar would have to be re-opened and the excess tissue re-draped, and released to get a flatter look so that the lip rests closer to your teeth and to give a better balance between your upper and lower lip in the side profile.
