If the length of your lip is within the normal range, then a V-Y or double V-Y may be indicated in your case. When the lip lift is done properly, the incision should be difficult to find. There is no internal procedure that can cause greater tooth exposure if the lip is truly long.

Hello, that's a great question! To my knowledge, there is not an alternative procedure that can achieve what you are describing. One of the essential aspects that makes a lip lift 'work' (increasing dental and vermilion show), is skin excision. The vector of pull on the external aspect of the lip rolls the vermilion outward and upward. Lip augmentation (V-Y) can increased the vermilion lip and projection (creating pout), but would not be expected to increase dental show. As an aside, a well-executed lip lift will result in a scar, but it can be minimized with proper surgical technique. Furthermore, scar modulation can be performed afterward if needed to help it heal with minimal visibility. Good luck!
