I'm only 20 years old but appear to have "jowels" on my jawline. I know it's probably just my bone structure because I've had them for as long as I can remember, but would fillers help correct the indent? Thanks!! :)

Answer: Fillers into Jowls I think you need an in person evaluation. This area is the "pre jowl" and sometimes forms a crease but it may be natural for you. Also, you appear to have large masseters that may need to be treated and if they are, may give you a more defined, less shadowed apperance. Fillers can easily treat this area if it is determined you have volume loss and need it. I suggest seeing someone who is young with a conservative aesthetic eye. You do not want to be overdone or permanently changed at such a young age. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Pre-Jowl Sulcus with Filler Allisonxo,The area you are talking about is the pre-jowl sulcus. This area can be significantly improved with fillers or fat grafting to the area. I put the filler deep on the bone structure and it can last longer when placed deeper. Good luck.
