I'm 20 years old with jowls. Would fillers help? (photos)

Hi Allisonxo,We work with many young patients with similar concerns in our practice.  What's bothering you is not truly "jowls", but rather a prominent pre-jowl sulcus and possibly a small amount of asymmetric fat in the left jowl area.  You are too young to have true jowling from facial laxity.  Fillers are very safe and can help soften up the left marionette region and the pre-jowl sulcus to some degree.  You might also be a good candidate for microscultiping  with a simply scar-less office procedure to permanently reduce the  asymmetric fat deposit on the left side to create more symmetry of your jawline and jowls.

I think you need an in person evaluation.  This area is the "pre jowl" and sometimes forms a crease but it may be natural for you.  Also, you appear to have large masseters that may need to be treated and if they are, may give you a more defined, less shadowed apperance.  Fillers can easily treat this area if it is determined you have volume loss and need it.  I suggest seeing someone who is young with a conservative aesthetic eye.  You do not want to be overdone or permanently changed at such a young age.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Allisonxo,The area you are talking about is the pre-jowl sulcus.  This area can be significantly improved with fillers or fat grafting to the area.  I put the filler deep on the bone structure and it can last longer when placed deeper.  Good luck.
