I am 3 months and 2.5 weeks postpartum. I had my breast augmentation done on August 30th 2017. I've noticed that my breast are starting to drop and they look horrible compared too what I had the last two and a half years. I will attach photos of what my breast look like. What could cause this? Am I responsible for this? Is it my fault?

Answer: Why do my breasts look so saggy? Advice? Your breasts are still going through many changes related to your pregnancy. They will not fully return to their final state until about 6 months postpartum or 6 months after cessation of breastfeeding, whichever is later. At that time you can visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you if you still have concerns. Sometimes after the effects of pregnancy and breastfeeding women choose to have a breast lift to help restore the shape of their breasts.

Answer: Your skin has been stretched from the milk of pregnancy You will know your final size and shape 6 months after you stop breast feeding or after childbirth with no breast feeding. Results of surgery could change in the future with significant weight change or pregnancy. The milk of pregnancy could change your surgical results. After pregnancy, your breasts could remain the same size, slightly bigger, slightly smaller and/or droopier. And, what can happen, can change from pregnancy to pregnancy. I recommend, if and when you are ready, an in person evaluation by a plastic surgeon to be measured and discuss your goals. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of former patients with similar measurements. My patients tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what is right for them. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author RealSelf Distinguished Hall of Fame Inductee
