Hi :) I had my breast implants removed and a lift 6 months ago. I am very happy with my breasts however on one side there is a thickening of the scar on one side of my areola. The area started as a red dot which I thought was a spitting suture. It has now healed but is a raised scar and slightly pigmented in that spot. Does this look like a keloid? Thank you very much

Answer: Keloid Dear Em737, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. Based on your photos, it doesn't look like a keloid. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Scars From the submitted photo you have hypertrophy of the scar but it is not a keloid. You can try various options to improve the appearance such as scar creams, silicone sheeting, lasers, and sometimes steroid injections. If after a year you still have concerns you can consider scar revision.
