I had my breast augmentation almost exactly 2 months ago (on the 9th). Before my surgery, my right breast was higher and smaller than my left. But now, my right of has dropped more than my left one, and no matter how much massaging I do, my left doesn’t seem to be following. I know it’s still early, but I’m scared it’s not going to ever drop like the other one. Do you think it will? I have my two months follow up on Monday, should I ask to wear a band (I was not given one originally)?
Answer: Breast Augmentation Thank you HopefulD95 for your question. Looking at the pictures you have posted it looks like you are a little asymmetric to begin with, so you may always be a little higher on that side. I would recommend to address your concerns when you do your follow up appt and see what your surgeon recommends. Best of luck to you during your recovery.

Answer: Breast asymmetry HopefulD, You are very in the post operative process and final results are achieved at 4-6 months. You may have some further skin and tissue relaxation along with "settling" of the implant over time. Your prep photos demonstrate some asymmetry with your left higher before.Your post operative results will reflect preoperative anatomic differences. these subtle differences are nearly always present are are what make each of unique. The breasts are sisters and not twins. You have a beautiful result, and should be quite pleased. I suspect you will be even happier in a few months. I also note that you hold your left shoulder higher when you stand and that too can create some of the subtle asymmetry thats you are seeing. Congratulations

Answer: Implant dropping Dear HopefulD95,dropping of implants is part of the healing process and this occurs after the tissues surrounding the implants slowly relax, allowing the implants to settle into their final position. It can take about four to six months for the implant to drop down to their final position.I understand that you are worried about your implants are not dropping as expected. However, you are still in the early phase of the recovery period. Please do allow some time for the healing process to occur. If after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Asymmetry after augmentation Breast implants will "settle" over time and the final result may not appear until 3-6 months after the procedure with gravity, tissue stretch, resolution of inflammation and swelling, and scar maturation all playing a role in shaping your final breast. It is also important to remember that both breasts can heal at different rates and one breast may settle faster than the other. In the meantime, I would recommend having patience and waiting to see how your breasts settle over time. If they remain asymmetric at 6 months, and if that asymmetry is of significant enough concern, then it is always possible to consider minor revision surgery. Hope this helps!

Answer: Breast Augmentation & Assymetry Good day, You are still very early in your healing process and it may take a few more weeks before seeing your breasts drop some more. Of course it is best to address your concerns in person with your plastic surgeon during your follow up appointment. Best of Luck !
