Can I breast feed my baby with breast implants on top of muscle?

Yes you should be able to breast-feed your baby with breast implants on top of the muscle.  Typically when breast implants are placed beneath the breast gland the actual breast gland is not touched as the implant is placed beneath the capsule beneath your breast.

should be anticipated but a nipple incision will certainly decrease your ability to fully breast feed.  As others have said, if you get any inflammation or spreading redness on your breasts when breast feeding, you should let your doctor know as antibiotics may be needed.  Also realize there are some women that simply will not be able to breast feed.  Hope it all goes well for you!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!  It is likely that you will be able to breast feed.  Inability to breast feed is a bit more concerning if your scar is around your nipple, but even then odds are with you.  Time will tell but if you have some concerns once the baby is born, see your surgeon.  A couple of things to consider in your situation are to keep an eye on any infection issues that may come up from normal breast feeding- these should be addressed immediately to prevent the infection from spreading to your implants.  The other issue is that with breast feeding, your breast shape will likely change.  Your implants are not too old but you will likely benefit from a rejuvenate procedure after your baby is done breast feeding and at that time you might want to consider having new implants to replace the old ones.Best wishes,Dr. L
