I had my ba on 5-21-14. Right before the surgery my ps said I wonder if we should be just doing a fill or if maybe we should be doing a lift afterall. This is 10 minutes before my surgery. So of course at that point we just hope for the best. I have had gastric bypass and my skin is thin and saggy. Ok so with that explained please see my ugly pictures and advice. When the implants drop will they fill in the lower hanging areas which includes my nipple? My first post opp is on Thursday so I will be able to ask my surgeon questions but would like for any input and encouragement I can get.
Answer: Breast lift after gastric bypass Patients that have undergone massive weight loss after gastric bypass often have very difficult breasts to correct. There is almost always a loss of volume requiring a breast implant and almost always a significant excess of skin requiring a breast lift (mastopexy). The breast lift and augmentation after massive weight loss is one of the more difficult surgeries that we perform. Even though there is limited information with your photo, you almost certainly will need a breast lift in order to achieve the best possible appearance of your breasts. At this point, I would suggest waiting for about 3 months before proceeding with the lift and allowing the implants to settle as much as they can.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Breast Augmentation with Mini Ultimate Breast Lift(TM) From your photograph, your results would have been better after a lift with implants or a lift then implants later. However, at this time, you have to wait several months before a revision.I recommend a new technique called Breast Augmentation with Mini Ultimate Breast LiftTM.Using only a circumareola incision it is possible to reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage.Aligning the areola, breast tissue and implant over the bony prominence of the chest wall maximizes anterior projection with a minimal size implant.Small round textured silicone gel implants placed retro-pectoral look and feel more natural, are more stable, less likely to ripple or have complications needing revision.Implant profile is irrelevant in the retro-pectoral position since the muscle compresses it.This technique avoids the ugly vertical scars of the traditional technique, maintains nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast Augmentation and Lift Dear Carry,Congratulations on your weight loss. Hang in there, I am sorry you are having trouble. Gastric bypass patients frequently develop relaxation of their breasts. Some surgeons will do a lift and breast augmentation as two separate procedures, at least there is some debate about this approach. Let this settle, and explore a lift in the distant future, as you have not burned any bridges. I wish you good luck."Dr. Joe"

Answer: Excess skin after augmentation Thank you for your picture although it's not the best angle. It appears that the breast implants will not drop take up that excess skin. Is often times with massive weight loss patients that only place needed but a mastopexy/breast lift needed.

Answer: Breast lift with breast implants Based on your early post op photos and history, I'd give the implants 3 months to settle and be prepared to have a lift. Best of luck to you.
