You do have some jaw asymmetry, but whether that’s caused by bone, muscle, or bite is hard to say from the photos — particularly since they’re flip versions of your face. If you think you have a bulky jaw muscle on one side, then consult a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert at reducing the masseters with Botox. If you suspect it’s actually your jawbone or an uneven bite, consult an orthodontist.
Botox can be used to slim the jawline and improve an asymmetry. Botox results resolve in 3-4 months. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Hope this helps.
First, your images are mirror images so on each photo a different side is off-midline. There are many possible causes and remedies from dental non-invasive. It all depends on actual cause of your asymmetry. Only direct physical examination can lead to exact recommendations. Good luck!
Did your jaw just recently seem crooked? Or was your jaw always crooked? There are many possibilities of treatment, but without in-person evaluation and more pictures of your bite, it is very challenging to say what is the correct recommended treatment for you. Solely based on your pictures, your jaw deviation looks to be hard tissue related issue, meaning it's either your teeth/bite or your actual jaw anatomy or both. Botox can only work on muscle fibers, unless your crook jaw is caused by jaw muscles on one side is pulling harder than the other side, Botox will not fix your crooked jaw appearance. See a local dentist first to rule out bad bite issue (cross bite), if you do have a cross bite, then your dentist will refer to you an Oral Surgeon and an Orthodontist to correct your bad bite and deviated jaw. Jaw surgery may be needed and the underlying condition will need to be diagnosed to see why your jaw is uneven.
Hi 6raciee,Botox can shrink the masseters only if they were hypertrophied. Your doctor can determine whether your problem has anything to do with dentition. However, you may also require cheek fillers. For one so young, you could skip all of these and wait a few more years. All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
No matter what technique or dosage is used, Botox lasts about three to four months in most areas of the face, and six months in the masseters. Botox works by blocking signals to the muscles that stimulate them to move. The relaxed muscles no longer press your skin into furrows and wrinkles, and...
I typically ask patients to wait a period of 24 hour's before exercise and/or weight training.
Due to the forced relaxation of the muscles by the botox, Xeomin, or Dysport, some people experience temporary swelling in areas near injection sites. It normally goes away within a week as the product settles in. If it happens each time, changing the amounts of neurotoxin (botox, Xeomin, D...
