Botox as a temporary canthopexy? (photo)

Question

I would really like to have a canthopexy surgery done to acheive a more almond shaped eye. At this time I do not have the time to take off for recovery. I wanted to know if I would be able to achieve any temporary results using botox?

Botox isn't your answer to creating almond shaped eyes. Botox works my blocking muscle contractiion.  It won't tighten up your eyes.

A canthopexy is a supportive procedure usually performed along the inner portion of the lateral orbital rim.  Botox works to de-activate muscles and can not create a canthopexy look.  Besides a canthopexy should not distort the lateral aperture significantly.

Botox works by weakening the movement of specific muscles. The eyelid position is determined by the strength of muscle activity in the eyelid. If Botox is injected into the area of the lower eyelid it can be expected to have no effect on eyelid position or cause drooping of the eyelid if overused. Botox will not cause the lower eyelid margin to lift which is the look you are seeking. I hope this answer is helpful for your research.

Interesting thought.  Botox would actually have the opposite effect I am afraid.  In my opinion, the canthopexy is not a great idea for you.  Your lid margin is in good position.  Surgery to "improve" the position has an equal chance of creating a new problem as it does of providing a beautiful, symmetrical and natural look.  Sorry.

Thank you for your question and photograph.  Botox will relax the eyelid muscles and if anything could make the lower eyelid more lax.A canthopexy to create an Allmond shape eyelid tightens and lifts the lower eyelid to create this appearance.Botox actually has the opposite effect of a canthopexy.
