How much swelling is normal after Restylane injections under the eyes/upper cheeks? (photos)

I had restylane injections under my eyes today and saw minimal bruising/swelling until around 6 hours later when I started to see a gradual increase in swelling. Now I have significant swelling and some tenderness, as shown in the photos. Is this normal?

Our office prefers to use Restylane in the under eye hollows. The reason for this is Restylane has finer particles than fat itself, and thus lends itself to settling and adhering to the under eye area more naturally and noticeably. For this reason the best results are seen with Restylane....

I think its the person injecting that gives you the results you are looking for.  Many of my patients do fillers in this are and PRP a few times a year to maintain the results.  PRP is not a filler but rather a stimulator. Cannula injections limit complications and give a more...

Thank you for your question. There may be some scar tissue preventing the product to spread evenly, but should be no other issue. You may want ot be safe,a nd take an antibiotic if the injection will be near any metal implants. I hope this helps!

Thank you for your question. I would certainlyl try Restylane before having surgery, knowing that it may not be all you need. See a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, and a ear, nose, throat facial plastic surgeon before any surgery decisions. I hope this helps!
