For atrophic and rolling acne scars, is there really a huge difference if one does multiple Subcisions and then fillers, OR one subscisoon session combined with fillers such as Restylane?
Answer: Acne Scarring Treatments Require Multiple Sessions There is no one single treatment that gives improvement in acne scarring , multiple sessions are typically needed. I find that bellafill is best for the scars. Dr. Emer

Answer: Subcision for Acne Scars I usually have good results even after just one subcision session. I don't typically inject fillers at the same time. When I do subcision, I perform a thorough release of the scar and any adhesions which pull the skin down. I numb the skin first with lidocaine injections. I can see the skin release and raise up as I perform the procedure. There is a risk of temporary bruising and swelling. It is likely that subcision in one office is not the same as subcision in another office. Of course, it can be repeated over time if needed.

Answer: Subcision works best if done with a filler simultaneously, preferably Bellafill When scars are cut, the edges are sticky and will reform if something isn't placed between them. Bellafill has recently been approved for filler after subcision for acne scars. This is a long term solution to a permanent problem.

Answer: Subcision multiple treatments Subcision is best performed multiple times, each treatment several weeks apart. It can be combined with fillers for instant gratification and with resurfacing lasers. With any procedure for acne scars, other than fillers, patience is required. It takes several months to see the full results of the dermal stimulation.

Answer: Multiple times for subcision followed by fillers You are indeed correct- multiple sessions are required for best results with subcision, especially for rolling and bound down or anchored scars. This procedure is best for scars the 'pucker' with animation. With the last subcison procedure, I normally place some filler such as Restylane or Volbella (Juvederm), as this 'lifts' the scar. regardsDr Davin LimLaser and aesthetic dermatologistBrisbane, Australia.
