What’s the difference between IPL and OPL? I am looking to do a series of treatments for my rosacea

My doctor tells me that OPL is a better version of IPL. He only has OPL. I am looking to do a series of treatments for my rosacea. IPL was very successful for me in the past. I am afraid with OPL will be different.

All three of these treatments use non coherent light. Each device has its own proprietary enhancements. It is the physician that is using the device that is more important than the device itself. If IPL worked in the past then OPL with a experienced physician should also be helpful. Find an expert. Good luck.

These are similar treatments. For rosacea, I like a combination approach, using lasers (ProYellow, Pulsed Dye/Vbeam, Excel V), peels and botox to the cheeks. This makes dramatic changes in color and symptoms. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

IPL and OPL are similar treatments, just slighted modifications differentiating the two. You should be able to get similar results with the IPL and OPL as long as the physician is experienced with the particular treatment you are having.
