I don't really know why you would need a silicone ear plug for a tummy tuck. Maybe for your belly button? You should be able to find one at any pharmacy. Best, Dr. Nazarian
I do not use a tummy tuck stent at the umbilicus, but maybe some doctors do. I doubt that a silicone plug would keep the scar from tightening there if you got a adverse reraction from your scarring as soon as you took it out, so I am not sure if it is really worth while. It probably doesnt do any harm either though as long as it doesn't hold moisture and doesn't need to be taped.Good luck with your procedure!
I don't regularly have patients place something in their belly button following tummy tuck. I would only advise this if it appears that you are having scarring that is causing your belly button to have a shrunken appearance. Your doctor is the best person to ask if this is necessary. If they feel that it is, they should be able to tell you what size plug is necessary and where to find it.

I have my patients eat their normal balanced diet prior to their surgery to maximize the healing process. Liquids only aren't necessary. I would also suggest that you check with your surgeon because I also recommend discontinuing many supplements prior to a tummy tuck. Good Luck!
It is always best to discuss your options with your operating Surgeon. We often offer overnight stay for patients who live further away from a surgical facility. Usually, tummy tucks are outpatient- so as long as you follow all of your Surgeon's post op instructions- you should be ok.
I was drawn to your question by your hometown of Hays, KS, which is where I was born, raised, and schooled (up till medical school). And your question is a good one, but without a "set" or uniform answer, since every surgeon does things a bit differently. The idea behind skin tapes is to provide...
