Will getting my deviated septum fixed create permanent dark circles under my eyes?

 A septoplasty does not involve breaking the nose. A septoplasty involves removal of twisted bone and cartilage way in the back of the nose that is blocking air flow. There is no bruising and external swelling associated with a septoplasty. A rhinoplasty is performed to straighten the nose which involves breaking it. A cast is applied across the nose, and the visible bruising and swelling is present from the rhinoplasty. A rhinoplasty and a septoplasty are 2 completely separate procedures,  with different indications. The lower eyelid bruising usually only comes when you have a rhinoplasty -- a cosmetic improvement of your nose. They are temporary and do not last forever. When you only have work on the septum there may be some mild nasal swelling but usually they is no external bruising.

The septum is the partition inside your nose dividing it roughly in  half. This is an internal procedure and won't create bruising about the lidsBreaking bones or osteotomy, is done during rhinoplasty where the nasal bones are fractured. It is here that you get black and blue under the lower lids.Black and blue goes away nearly in 100% of patients anyway.
