Black thing coming out of incision?

Question

Hi all. On Friday evening I had vaser lipo to the abs and flanks. I'm still in pain but have been able to get to work yesterday and today.when I got home this evening I removed my compression garment to wash and one of the incision patches fell off. When I looked it seemed as though there was a black string like thing coming out of it! I pulled it thinking it was hair but it wouldn't budge so I just put a plaster on it and left it. What could it be? I've been worried it was a vein or blood vessel or something!! :O please help

Hi, it is difficult to assess without photos, but do not panic as this may be your suture. Sutures are typically removed within 7 to 10 days of surgery. It is best to strictly follow the prescribed aftercare for best results and contact your surgeon immediately regarding this concern. Best of luck!

I'm sorry to hear you are having a concern with your surgery.  This black thing may be a suture or a small remnant of tissue.  It's probably nothing serious, but  let your surgeon know about your concern.  They may want to see you back sooner than planned.  Best wishes, Dr. Lepore.
