Thank you for sharing your question. It is probably safest to wait 2 weeks before applying makeup directly to the incision site following blepharoplasty. Most makeups are acceptable. Make sure to apply sunblock as well. Good luck,
Dear jenni55Congratulations on your surgery! For my patients I advise the following:Do not apply any make up, cosmetics or creams to your eyes for at least 2 weeks after your procedure. Once 2 weeks have passed try to only apply mineral based products as this will allow your skin to breathe. If you have any concerns, do speak with your consultant. All the best
I suggest you wait 2-3 weeks before applying makeup along the upper lid . You want to avoid clogging the oil glands and increasing the risk of Milia. Also as you mentioned you dont want any dark makeup "tattooing" the incision line or suture marks good luck
Best to ask the plastic surgeon who performs your blepharoplasty. In general, you can resume cosmetic use with a week to 10 days. This gives time for incisions to heal, for sutures to have been removed if necessary, and for most of the initial swelling to subside. Recommend that you stick to water-based cosmetics initially. Do not use makeup on any open wounds.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
It is safe to wait for 2-3 weeks before putting any makeup over the incision as it may disrupt the healing process when the scar is still fresh.
Thanks for your question. I typically ask the patient to wait about three weeks after surgery before applying any makeup to the incision line.
Its best to wait two weeks prior to applying make up. All wound edges need to heal in order to avoid scarring and infection. Pure mineral make up is the best. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for your question! Most places do have a standard protocol for pre-admission testing which is often dictated by whomever is administering anesthesia. I would just look at it as an extra precaution to keep you safe. Also, ask with your specific plastic surgeon why he/she...
Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and...
At home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (MTS roller with anteage MD ampules) should be started now. There are many things you can do to treat under eye hollows and dark circles. A surgical option to remove skin and/or fat will such as lower eyelid blepharoplasty...
I WOULD TRY FILLERS BEFORE GOING IN AND DOING SURGERY , THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FAT TRANSFER AND FILLERS ARE FILLER ARE LESS INVASIVE AND CAN LAST 6-9 MONTHS SOMETIMES UP TO A YEAR DEPENDING ON WHICH ONES. FAT TRANSFERS ARE USUALLY SURGICALLY DONE WITH LIPO AND TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER AREA OF THE...
Plasmage uses plasma energy to sublimate or modify the tissue it is treating. There are many other modalities to modify the skin around the eyelids. Thermi Smooth, Fraxel, Erbium, chemical peel, etc are just some examples. These minimally invasive approaches have the advantage of convenience...
