Fillers have been used for lipoatrophy associated with HIV medications for over 15 years. Sculptra obtained FDA approval for this use in 2004. Of course, realize that this is a medical procedure and has some inherent risk.
There's no reason why you cannot receive fillers in the face. if your doctor recommends using Juvederm, then use Juvederm. But at the same time many patients use Sculptra which is a longer acting filler, which was in fact designed originally for the patients with HIV. Good luck from New York City
