I have had an oopherectomy but still have flare ups bc I have my uterus. My surgeon is proposing a hysterectomy but I disagree. She preformed an open procedure so my abd wall is very flaccid.
Answer: Endometriosis and TT with Liposuction. Hello, thank you for your question. There is absolutely no problems on tummy tuck and liposuction being performed on a patient with endometriosis. Just keep in mind there is a good possibility, and your Gynecologist has already expressed this, that you may end up batting a hysterectomy. It is advisable to get your hysterectomy first, so the incision doesn't ruin the tummy tuck adding a vertical scar on the abdomen. Hope to have been of some help

Answer: GYN problems and Cosmetic Surgery It should be safe for you to have liposuction and/or a tummy tuck. I would recommend control of your endometriosis prior to any cosmetic procedures even if that means a hysterectomy.

Answer: Endometriosis and tummy tuck/liposuction Endometriosis is something that occurs inside the abdominal wall while tummy tucks and liposuction take place outside the abdominal wall. They should have no effect on each other.

Answer: Is it safe to get a tummy tuck with endometriosis As a former board certified (and practicing) general surgeon prior to developing an interest in Plastic Surgery, I have an intimate working background in intraabdominal issues such as endometriosis and have done intrabdominal surgery on patients with this issue multiple times. While endometriosis is generally a chronic problem and can result in the need for surgery at some point , the presence of a prior tummy tuck is not something that would be a problen should the the need arise for intrabdominal surgery. In addition a tummy tuck should not exacerbate discomfort which may be present from the endometriosis. So, I would not feel it would be a problem unless your OB-gyn feels you are high risk for surgery in the near future. However, be sure your surgeon is comfortable with lipoabdominoplasty (Saldanha technique) as it has been found to be safer as well as more aesthetic and in addition we are now finding it is not necessary to tighten muscle on many patients which makes the recovery much faster.

Answer: Endometriosis Endometriosis should not have any impact on your ability to have a tummy tuck. As long as you are healthy, you may be a good candidate for a tummy tuck procedure. Best wishes.
