Can Bimatoprost help hair grow too? (Photo)

My sister's friend said that she used Bimatoprost on both her eyelash and hair too and she stopped using a wig because of the hair growth. Can it really work on hair or her case is an acception?

The active ingredient in Latisse is bimatoprost .03%. Therefore, it can help hair growth. Although, Latisse has been FDA approved for eyelash enhancement and not to the scalp. Visit a hair restoration specialist to talk about alternatives.

Technically speaking, Latisse can work to make any active hair follicle grow hair at an accelerated rate. So this means it could work anywhere you have hair follicles, including the scalp or eyebrows. However, note that the bottle of Latisse is extremely small (3ml or 5ml) so trying to apply it to the head would require a good deal of solution - and cost you a lot of money - that you will need to maintain. Currently, Allergan is looking into studying bimatoprost for other types of hair loss, but at this time it's not available or approved.
