Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best,Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
Thank you for your question. We have found that fractional laser with an Erbium YAG laser has less of a chance of pigmentation loss than with a CO2 fractional laser. To be sure, see two or more licensedand board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to makesure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have thesetreatments.I hope this helps.
CO2 laser can certainly be done on Asian skin ifperformed by the right person. However, because each person is different and there is a possibility of hyperpigmentation, it is really important to go to anexperienced specialist with a reputable practice. I recommend that you have aconsultation with either a facial plastic surgeon or a dermatologist with CO2experience. Please keep in mind that, depending on the severity of the scarring, there are also less evasive options that you can use (for example, Erbiumpixel resurfacing). Sorry, I am not able to recommend a clinic that removes acne scarring in India.
OK, any laser can cause PIH or skin darkening especially in darker skin types. I treat type 5-6 skin on a daily basis for acne scars. Erbium is safer, but CO2 is better. Which one do I use? If a patient is super nervous about PIH- erbium laser. If they are results driven CO2 Fractional laser. My density level is very conservative - no more than 15%. For erbium, I do go above 22%.CheersDr Davin Lim Laser and cosmetic dermatologistBrisbane, Australia.
