In my practice, I try to stay away from these combination regimens, as cortisones are non-selective inhibitors of melanocytes. I would recommend my patients to start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for the pigmentation.I would start with an intense skin rejuvenation protocol for age spots that includes fractional laser, Covalent chemical peels, and daily skin brightening creams to improve your skin’s complexion. This is difficult to answer without pictures. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for after care and treatment for PIH. This can be improved with lasers, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. See an expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your question nivbala.I am sorry to hear about your situation. Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is anoutstanding treatment that can address multiple aspects of aging in a singletreatment. For my patients with darker skin types I always recommend a good skin care regimen for one to two months prior to the treatment with products containing hydroquinone, kojic acid, retinoids, salicylic acid, vitamin C, vitamin E, and hyaluronic acid of course with sunscreen. This minimizes the risk for PIH. Also settings on the laser must be adjusted for the skin type. For my patients with PIH after a laser treatment I recommend the same skin care treatment possibly with IPL photofacial treatments. Please consult with a doctor forspecific recommendations. Good luck!
