My current breast size is 34A, I am 5'6'' and 130 lb. Can I go for a 600cc silicone implant. I want to go big but I am concerning about my savety.
Answer: Avoid over implantation At size 34 each 100 cc’s of implant corresponds to 1 cup size change.600 cc implants would take you to a size G and it would be very difficult for you to find clothes or bras that fit.600 cc implants weigh over 1 lb each, will not fit retro-pectoral, will extrude inferiorly and laterally requiring revision.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: 600 cc silicone implants Dear Andrea, If indeed you are 34 A cup, a 600 cc implants will incease your breasts by 4 sizes which means that you will end up with a 34 DD cup size. If that's ok with you from the apearance stand point, safety is realy a non issue when done by an experienced board certified plastic surgeon. I would like you, though, to reconsider silicone implants for saline implants for the following reasons : 1. silicone implants cost 3 times more than saline implants. 2 The incision for large silicone implants has to done in the sub mammary crease which is not scar friendly and due to the large size of the implants the incision will be very long. On the contrary, saline implants, regardless of the size can be inserted through a small incision under the areola which is scar friendly. 3. The sub areola incision allows to an easier pocket dissection with nicer cleavage and more precise new sub mammary fold. 4. When saline implants rapture , it is very simple to replace, where as silicone removal is complex. I hope this helps. Always check the before and after pictures of your surgeon, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and you like them. Also, check the reviews. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: 600 cc Implants and Safety Not an easy question to answer, especially without photos or, ideally, an in person exam. 34A to 600cc implants may be a bit of a stretch. But that depends very much on your tissue characteristics. Be sure to have several in person consultations with recommended board certified plastic surgeons. Best of luck!

Answer: Going big 600 mL implant may work. But it's hard to determine since I do not have your physical exam more specifically your breast measurements. You will have to trust the opinion and recommendations of your plastic surgeon. He or she would not pick an implant that would be too large that will cause you problems in the long run.Good luck Earl Stephenson Jr MD DDS FACS

Answer: How big can I go and be safe? 5'6", 130LBS, 600cc silicone implants. Thank you for the question. In regards to specific size/profile of breast implant, despite good intentions, online consultants will not be able to provide you with meaningful specific advice. Ultimately, in person consultation with well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons will be necessary. Careful measurements, dimensional planning, and careful communication will be key. You are wise to consider "safety" concerns in your decision making. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you're looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining which operation and/or breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup" or "go big" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging may be very helpful during this communication phase. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery. I hope this, and the attached link (dedicated to larger looks), helps.
