Treatment for armpit fat? What are my options? (photo)

It's a great question. When the armpit skin is thick and elastic then armpit fat does really well with liposuction. Tiny holes are made and very small instruments are used to remove the stubborn fat. Once everything heals, no one will know that a little lipo was needed. 

Traditional liposuction, or Smartlipo would work for this area.  However, if you want to minimize downtime and have no insertion point scars from the various methods of lipo, then Kybella is an excellent and safe injectable treatment for small pockets of fat, such as bra fat.  Good luck!

I suggest seeing an expert in body contouring and confirming if the problem is excess fat and/or skin. This area is best treated with a combination of VASER HI DEF / 4D HI DEF LIPO and ThermiRF.  Alternatives can be Kybella, Coolsculpting and Profound which will require multiple treatments.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Liposuction of the armpits is so easy and effective that you should get it done asap. It is done under tumescent local and with very little down time at all.

The treatment of armpit fat can be done either with liposuction or direct surgical excision, depending on the amount and severity.  In females, this is sometimes confused with axillary breast tissue.

Thank you for your photo. Liposuction is one way to directly remove the armpit fat. This will require a tiny incision hidden in your armpit and the fat can be removed in one procedure. Another option is Kybella which can dissolve the fat however this use is considered off-label as Kybella is FDA approved for the area specifically under the chin. It is best to have an in-office examination to determine the best treament options to achieve your goals. Hope this helps!!

Thanks for your question. I have tried all the modalities including cool sculpting and vanquish. There is nothing that works better than good old tumescent liposuction, I prefer the PAL technique. Some folks have advocated Kybella, but I don't think it will be as efficient, or frankly as predictable or as easy as lipo.
