Obviously, I cannot speak for any other physician. But, the simple answer to your question is that Radiesse is FDA-approved and Ellanse is still not. Both of them, as well as Sculptra (another FDA-approved agent), stimulate new native collagen production. None of these, however, can be easily or simply reversed, should an adverse or unwanted reaction occur. On the other hand, hyaluronic acid-based fillers have also been found to stimulate new native collagen and elastic fiber synthesis and these products can be reversed, should the need arise, via the use of the natural enzyme, hyaluronidase--which makes hyaluronic acid injectables my preference over all of the above.
