Can I get a chin implant in-office?

Hi, Do you know of any doctors in the LA area that perform chin implants in office, with local?? Also does this cut out the cost of a surgical center? Leaving only the cost of implant? I was looking around and the surgical center fees are almost as much as the implant itself making it way to costly for me.

Thanks for sharing. Chin implants can be performed under local anesthesia as an office procedure as long as there is a proper "surgical" procedure room.  Our chin implants are performed in our AAASF accredited surgery room. This will eliminate the "anesthesia fee" and drastically reduce or eliminate the "facility fee".  Thus, the "surgeons fee" would likely be the only fee.

Chin implants can be placed using local anesthesia, avoiding the cost of an additional anesthesiologist.However, the facility at which the procedure is performed should be in a room dedicated to surgical procedures. This may be in an office surgical suite or even a dedicated treatment room that adheres the the usual sterile policies of a larger operating room.

Many doctors will do chin implants in their surgery suite with local/sedation. The only cost this alleviates is that of the anesthesiologist. You will still have the surgeon's fees, the cost of the implant and the facility fees.

A chin augmentation needs to be performed in an accredited surgical center. Attention to sterility when placing any implant, as well as the proper environment for the surgeon, are crucial in achieving a good result. Even if someone is willing to place a chin implant in an office setting, it doesn't make it the right choice. The consequences of complications and suboptimal cosmetic outcomes are much costlier. If you can't afford to have the procedure done in a safe manner, you would be well served to wait until you can.

Dear tweetybest, Personally I use my private fully accredited operating facility that is connected to my office to perform all of my procedures. This allows me to keep my patients costs down while still providing safety and comfort. It is important to use a fully accredited operating facility to insure the facility you are in uses the guidelines and standards set up by accrediting boards. This includes sterile technique which is imperative in surgical procedures. While a chin augmentation may be performed in an "office" you want to have the procedure done in an accredited operating facility to ensure your safety and reduce any risk of infection. I do perform chin implants under local anesthesia, but I do perform them in the Operating Room.  You can eliminate the Anesthesia fee.  I have a fully accredited operating room, so we can keep the costs down.  That said, it is best to find an experienced Facial Plastic or plastic surgery with an aesthetic eye for the best, most natural results.

A chin implant can be comfortably placed under just local anesthesia. Many surgeons have licensed, accredited operating rooms in their offices; you do not want to have an implant placed in a "room"" where there is an increased risk of post-op infection.
