27, 9 months post-op tummy tuck I got a bulge after paddling, have I ruined result? (Photos)

Question

I am 27 years old and had tummy tuck 10 months ago. Everything was going smooth until about 9 months post op I went paddling where I paddled and carried the paddling board for a few kilometers. The same day I got swelling/bulge where I used to have after surgery but had resolved and flattened. It has gone down a bit since but is still very visible. I did ultrasound and no fluid was detected. I am very concerned. Have I ruined/raptures my result at 9 months post op and will I need another surgery

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

It would be unusual, but not impossible for muscle wall repair failure nine months after your surgery.  I encourage you to return to your surgeon for an evaluation.  If the muscle repair has failed a revision would be needed in order to correct it.

Go back to your surgeon and be examined. He/she can check the muscle repair to see if it is still tight.

It is possible that have some weakness of the abdominal wall or even a hernia development. You need to see your surgeon for examination.
