Does the oral intake of vitamin C influence the efficacy of Botox?

Question

I had a treatment with Botox in my face today, but for facial pain. My first treatment with Botox ever in life was on March 13 this year. I received 30 units. The doctor who treated me said to come back in 14 days so, I can give feedback and he can re-inject some if necessary. This was the case today and I got 20 units. I took a lot of vitamin C a few hours after the treatment and am now worried that the Botox might not work - Could this be the case?

There's no clinical evidence stating negative or positive influence in the results of any toxin injection (botox, dysport , Juveau, Xeomin or Daxxify). But there's few evidence regarding possitve effect on botox with Zinc intake (50 mgs per day)

Taking Vitamin C should not impact your Botox treatment.  You should begin to see the effects of the Botox 5-7 days after injection, with final results seen after 14 days.  The product will gradually wear off over three to four months.

Taking vitamin C after a Botox treatment is unlikely to have any significant effect on the effectiveness of the treatment. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that can help protect your skin from damage and promote healing, but it is unlikely to interfere with the mechanism of action of Botox.

Taking vitamin C, should not affect the effectiveness of your Botox treatment. If anything different was the case, then, lots of people who eat citrus would not be happy with their treatments. You have absolutely nothing to worry about and good luck from New York City Plastic Surgery.
