21 yo, 5' 1 Asian, 100 pounds, BWD 10.5cm, picture of me is provided. I like the projection and natural look of moderate plus profile. I’ve found reviews with the exact proportions I prefer but I am unsure of their bwd. They all range from 300-350cc However, in the case that my bwd might be smaller than theirs, how do I achieve the same projection and proportions as them with a smaller bwd without switching to hp? Is it possible? Thank you!

Choosing an implant size/style is an important decision which is best made in concert with your surgeon. Ultimately, options are based on a number of factors including:

-Chest dimensions: This point is crucial as the width of your breasts defines the available "real estate" on which the foundation of your augmentation is built. This "foot print" is the absolute limit with which you are dealing.  Too "large" is not so much the risk as too "wide." You cannot build a 3 acre mansion on a half acre plot. An implant which is too wide (exceeding the available space on your chest) will generally over hang laterally making it more noticeable and occasionally contributing to discomfort and nerve symptoms (numbness or tingling). This will also contribute to a more unnatural look.

-Tissue quality: This relates to size in the sense that the implant will be suspended by your tissue. Too large an implant may place took large a stress on these suspending tissues leading to healing problems in the short term and bottoming out in the long term.

-Patient desire (what is the look you are hoping to achieve?)
My role as a surgeon is to manage expectations and guide you towards a prudent choice which can satisfy these reasonable goals. Often times, a surgeon can guide a patient toward a size/cc range and patients will make determinations on implant style/profile. Patient seeking more or less projection, or seeking a more pronounced or subtle upper pole volume increase can be guided toward an implant which will help them best achieve their goals. Additionally, technique variations (sub muscular vs. sub glandular) can also aid in obtaining the look you desire. 
 
There are a number of tools available to help guide patient/surgeon decision making including sizers, 3D imaging and goal photos. Each modality can help better communicate your goals to your surgeon and vice versa.

Based upon your photos, your choices seem reasonable. The best advice that can be given is to respect your BWD.

Ultimately, it is important to not marry oneself to a particular "cc" as oppose to a particular "look." Communication is key as you and your surgeon create your custom surgical plan. 
As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

Since you prefer a moderate plus profile for its balance between projection and width, a size range of 300-350cc is reasonable for your petite frame. This choice should provide a wider base with moderate projection, aligning with your goal of achieving a natural look. HP implants offer greater projection with a narrower base, which can result in more upper pole fullness. However, they may also create a perkier, rounder appearance instead of a naturally sloped breast shape. If you favor the natural slope of MP implants but find that your BWD is slightly smaller than those referenced in the reviews, you might consider HP implants. In this case, you would likely need to select a smaller size (275-325cc) to prevent excessive projection that could appear unnatural. However, you should have a consultation with your surgeon to select the best implant for you.

In general, I recommend implants with base diameters that fall within the natural boundaries of the breast. Larger implants that require modification of pre existing breast landmarks can lead to implant malposition in the long term. You may find it helpful to consult with a plastic surgeon who utilizes VECTRA 3 dimensional imaging as part of their consultation. It provides a fairly accurate simulation of how you may look with different volumes/profiles and may help you in your decision making process. Good luck.

Of course I can’t tell the exact size that may help you to get results you desire without examing you, but in my opinion 300-325 will be enough. HP implants are useful when we need to uprise the nipple position. In your case I don’t think that it will be necessary.

Hello and thank you for your question. Honestly, a formal in-person evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are several reasons for this: 
1) Bra sizes vary based on the clothing store (for example, Victoria's Secret tends to upsize everyone by a whole cup size)
2) Most women do not wear the proper exact fitting bra size for their bodies
3) The exact volume (in cc) needed to change cup size is different for different body types (e.g. 32A to 32D requires a different implant size than 38A to 38D)
4) Be careful NOT to fall into the trap most women do- they see a certain implant size (e.g. 285 cc) or perhaps their friend had a certain size, and they want or request this or another size based on that. Everyone's body is different- 285 cc implants on your friend might look VERY different than they would on you. Be very careful not to make this mistake, because the goal is to find the right size and shape for YOU- for your particular body and your breasts.

Because of those multiple factors, and because it is KEY to fully evaluate your breasts in person to make a full set of precise measurements to select the proper implant for you (incorporating factors like amount of breast tissue, implant type, base width, projection, etc), answering your question really would need a formal personalized consultation- to say anything before that would simply be guessing, which would be both unfair and unhelpful to you.

Your breasts are such a KEY area of your body and your femininity- therefore, you should ONLY trust an experienced aesthetic plastic surgeon. As such an expert, I have had extensive training and experience with complex aesthetic surgeries under a multiple world-renowned experts in the field. if one has a relatively small frame, the important dimensions include the distance from the nipple to the fold and also the base width of the breasts. Moderate profile plus implants have relatively large diameters and can be limiting a bit on the volume. In my practice I would utilize a high profile implant and expect a more natural look. If a patient wishes more superior fullness, there are three or four more profiles above high profile that can achieve that. To me, a high profile implant is a middle-of-the-road implant that does provide reasonable projection with a small amount of superior fullness and decreases the base width.I would agree with volumes in the 300 to 350 range although it would be interesting to see photographs from the Internet that the patient wishes to achieve. My bet is that there is some superior fullness.

Thank you for your question and providing a photo. You appear to be a great candidate for breast augmentation. You could easily achieve the projection you want with your narrow base dimension by using a Mentor moderate high Xtra gel implant. The 255cc projects 4.3cm. If at surgery your space is wider a 295 mod plus Xtra gel implant will give you 4cm of projection. I hope this helps

Thanks for your question! If you haven't had any children, I think that you will end up in the mid-200s to avoid any complications. It is very difficult, if not impossible for a person such as yourself to preselect the perfect implant. You have to base your decisions on photographs, data from other women, and self-education from reading. You are trying to make a decision on a few months of study whereas a board-certified plastic surgeon makes the decision after years of education and training and sometimes decades of experience. You will have a far more reliable outcome by seeking a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon and work together to find the perfect implant.
