Can SculpSure help with paradoxal adipose hyperplasia after CoolSculpting?

I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon. SculpSure is a very safe procedure as patients may feel a little tenderness in the treated areas for a few days, but this sensation is comparable to that of an intense workout, and should not disrupt normal activities.

The best option for this condition is body contouring with VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF and ultrasound. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a body contouring expert.  The coolsculpting company typically will pay with evidence of need.  Best, Dr. Emer

I certainly think that it would be worth a try to see if SculpSure can help with your PAH. Especially since it is non-invasive. Schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss. 

Although SculpSure is not intended to treat PAH, it most likely should help with it. PAH is an atypical response that occurs sometimes after Coolsculpting, although we honestly are not clear on who develops it, or why. I would certainly recommend a non-invasive treatment rather than doing something invasive like Lipo to try and improve this situation.

SculpSure should be able to help after PAH (paradoxical adipose hyperplasia after CoolSculpting).  It is unknown why PAH occurs after CoolSculpting.  I think it is due to cold.  Cold makes us fatten up and I speculate this has a role in its development.PAH has not been reported after SculpSure as of 2016.I would use SculpSure before I would try SmartLipo or Vaser.

This is a great question?  No one knows why adipose hyperplasia develops and therefore we don't know how to treat it.  I think SculpSure is a great idea and I would try it, you really have nothing to lose.  If the same doctor has the CoolSculpting and SculpSure machine, maybe you can work out a deal.Good Luck!

Sculpsure should be somewhat helpful in reducing the fat in the area. however, if you have uneven fat and you described golf ball size fat, then using Smartlipo with fiberoptic laser that you can actually use to melt that fat ball directly, would make the most sense. i would add, that since this is NOT on your face, then you should see a board certified plastic surgeon, which is a completely different specialty than a "facial plastic surgeon", which is really called a ENT surgeon. Having done a full residency in plastic surgery and being board certified in it, i found it frustrating when other specialties blur the difference between the specialities. david berman md
