The main problem is not even the position of the scar for the belly button, but its orientation.   The narrow vertical orientation is an obvious tell that you had surgery.  You would be best served with revision of the umbilicus to make it smaller and less like a vertical slit.  This can be performed without dividing the blood supply to the belly button. In addition, because they shortened the horizontal scar to deliver a false promise, they left you with lateral dog ears.  Now, to finish the job correctly, you will need the scars extended laterally to flatten the dog ears, making the scar the length it should have been in the first place. It also appears that your upper abdominal muscles need to be reconstructed.

Because your umbilicus was floated, it lost its blood supply from its stalk and is just dependent on the skin to supply it.  therefore any incisions to attempt to move it up would result in loosing the umbilicus.  My recommendation would be to revise the scar and dog ears and possibly attach the stalk a bit higher to see if this helps give the umbilicus a better appearance.  

'floating' the umbilicus is only very rarely performed for very specific indications (relatively long torso with inherently high belly button).....even so, in hundreds of abdominoplasties I have never floated an umbilicus.... the reason is that it takes the normal blood supply away from the belly button and makes it all but impossible to revise....'reconstructed' belly buttons very rarely turn out acceptably when floated belly buttons get resected in revision abdominoplastiesgood luck

This is the major complication follow the free float TT. Thus you wee NOT a good candidate for thus technique...

Hello. I agree your belly button looks a little low while standing up. Interestingly, it looks pretty good in a laying position. Your belly button can be moved up into a higher position, but it does come with a scar where your current lower belly button is. The scar would be vertical, several centimeters long, and should heal similarly to the rest of your tummy tuck scar. The gathering at the sides of your scar could be addressed at the same time by lengthening the edges of the incision slightly. Hope that helps!CDK

I do not like to float an umbilicus for the reasons that you are unhappy. Best to luck trying to improve this situation.

In our practice, we would reserve an umbilical float procedure for someone with a very high belly button to begin with. Otherwise the belly button ends up low and cannot be floated back up.  I think if you had a revision of the dog ears, and possibly try to lower your scar, it may look less like it is right at your belly button. You need in person examination.  Make sure your surgeon is a board-certified plastic surgeon (ABPS) and has significant experience in revision tummy tucks. Best wishes.
