Let's say you want to have a facelift, necklift, browlift and upper and lower blepharoplasty done. And let's say cost and recovery time were not an issue to the patient and somehow the surgical skills were all the same. Would you achieve the best aesthetic outcome by splitting the procedures up, say doing the eyes and brow one year and the face and neck the next? Or would doing them altogether be better, aesthetically?
Answer: Total Facial Rejuvenation Vs Splitting Up Facial Procedures The series of procedures that you are suggesting is commonly performed in healthy patients at one time in my practice. In recent years I have seen a trend toward more patients having multiple procedures done together. However, there is no totally right nor totally wrong answer to this question. Since time itself is valuable, the advantages of doing everything at once is one down time, and often synergy of results. There is also cost compression from having multiple simultaneous procedures. Some patients aren't comfortable with multiple procedures, fearing too great a change at one time. However, if you are seeing a Surgeon who does natural result, this should not be an issue.

Answer: Multiple procedures Thank you for your inquiry! It wouldn't necessarily change the outcome aesthetically whether you split the procedures up separately or do the procedures together. I always recommend doing the procedures together as long as you're a candidate due to one anesthesia price and one recovery. I would love to see you in person and verify that you're a good candidate for these procedures. Schedule a consult with a board certified plastic surgeon like myself so we can make a surgical plan for you and help you reach your goals!

Answer: Multiple factors Dear mbelmel, thank you for your question! Combining facial procedures, like a facelift, neck lift, brow lift, and upper/lower blepharoplasty, can provide a cohesive, balanced outcome with a single recovery period, allowing all areas to heal and rejuvenate simultaneously. When performed together, these procedures are coordinated to achieve harmony in facial contours and proportions, often resulting in a more natural and refreshed look. However, there are some considerations for performing multiple procedures in one session. Combining surgeries can lengthen the total time under anesthesia, which may carry additional risks. For this reason, it’s essential to work with a board-certified plastic surgeon experienced in combined facial procedures to assess your candidacy for a multi-procedure approach. For patients with specific concerns about safety, surgical duration, or healing capacity, spacing out procedures can still deliver excellent results. Ultimately, the decision depends on your unique anatomy, health, and goals, so discussing a personalized plan with your surgeon is key.

Answer: Aesthetically speaking, yes! Great question! When speaking from an aesthetic standpoint, getting everything done together is best. The human eye has a tendency to pick up on any subtle differences/mismatching and when one area of the face looks to be aging different than the others, your results can look more unnatural. Doing everything together can help ensure a harmonious, natural-appearing result. Hope this helps!

Answer: Comprehensive Facial Rejuvenation As a Los Angeles-based double board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in facial plastic surgery, I recommend addressing all facial rejuvenation procedures, including brow lift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, lip lift, and other adjunctive procedures simultaneously. This ensures a cohesive overall treatment, preventing any untreated areas from appearing more prominent compared to the refreshed areas. Patients who opt for separate procedures often find untreated areas look more noticeable. Of note a facelift will always include a neck lift as it is part of a facelift, but you can do a neck lift procedure alone. Additionally, at our practice (Aesthetic MdR) every facelift includes laser and skincare treatments to address incisions, skin texture, and overall complexion. I hope this information clarifies the process of a comprehensive facial rejuvenation.

Answer: Facelift: combining procedures Is it better to do all face procedures at the same time? mbelmel If you want to have a facelift, neck lift, browlift and upper and lower blepharoplasty done, it's reasonable to do them all together assuming you are healthy, and anesthesia is not an issue. You can also add laser or chemical peel resurfacing. It will most likely be less expensive and healing will occur in one time period LiteLift® is a modified facelift that is 40% less invasive than a traditional facelift, resulting in a shorter recovery time and minimal scarring. Our board-certified plastic surgeons at Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery consider LiteLift® to be the “gold standard” in facelift techniques. Dr. Nichter and Dr. Horowitz pioneered the LiteLift® and have more than 20 years of experience using their innovative technique to deliver the best results with the least discomfort and downtime. The minimally-invasive LiteLift® procedure smooths, tightens, and repositions areas of the face by lifting layers of underlying supporting tissues. These tissues cover and surround the deeper structures of the face and neck and include the fat pads and muscles that provide the “foundation” for your face. This mini facelift often produces more natural-looking results that often last longer than traditional facelifts. The upper or lower eyelids can be treated alone, or if needed all four eyelids can be treated at the same time. At times, a Brow lift, Cheek Lift (mid face lift), and/or a Facelift is done along with the eyelid surgery. A cheek lift can be used along with repositioning the lower lid fat to decrease the dark depressed circles around the eye and give more fullness to the cheeks while decreasing the creases between the lower cheek and lip (nasolabial folds). Excess drooping of the eyebrows and corners of the upper eyelids may require a forehead or brow lift to correct the area. Recovery time from a facelift varies from person to person, but patients can generally expect to be presentable within three weeks from surgery. Patients should expect swelling, bruising, and discoloration of the skin during this phase of recovery (swelling normally goes down after 48 hours; most bruising will go away within two weeks). The marks from a facelift are noticeable at first but are easily hidden with a bit of “camouflage” make-up which our experts can teach you to do. The scars from a facelift mature within six to twelve months from the surgery date. It is during this time that the rejuvenating effects of the facelift will become apparent, and the real result will be seen.
