Is my upper eye lift too aggressive? (Photo)

Unfortunately if a lot of skin is removed from the upper eyelids it can pull the brow down as you adjust to close your eyes.  The best solution is to wait a full year and then consider fat grafting to the upper eyelid along with a browlift.  If have had success with these procedures.  The asymmetry could be addressed as well but not necessarily fully corrected.

The eyelid muscle has become separated from its attachment, causing the vertical eyelid opening to become smaller/ more sleepy/ asymmetric. It also causes the lashes to point downward. Your front view photo shows your brows actually pulling upward as reaction to the decreased eyelid function, creating a hollow under the upper lid bone. There is a reflexive head tilt backward, also an attempt to see better from a droopy upper lid. You may have had this condition prior to surgery (it's part of the aging process), but correction would require reattaching the muscle (anchor eyelid surgery) and pulling down any remaining fat that may be stuck down under the bone. Otherwise, you may need fat grafting int he central region. A temporal browlift would also help. In answer to your question, it's not that the surgery was too aggressive, it's that not enough was done to tighten up the internal eyelid structures during the initial surgery.

Based on the photo, there may have been too much skin removed during the surgery. the brows do drop down when closing your eyes to compensate for the lacking skin so you can completely close your eyes. However, it would be difficult to give an accurate assessment without an in-person examination. It would be best to schedule an appointment with your surgeon or another board certified plastic surgeon and have a detailed discussion of your revision options.
