Can a gastric sleeve be done at the same time as cesarean delivery?

Hello, I hope you are well. No, it would not be recommendable to get a gastric sleevev at the same time as a cesarean surgery. Both of these procedures are considered major surgery and are attributed with risks of their own. Additionally, both surgeries require different recovery processe which may place your body under extra stress.

It is too far away from the stomach to do the surgery and it would be too risky.  The uterus is far away from the stomach and doing that surgery when you first have a child is a bit too risky. 

I agree with Dr. Simpson on this one.  Even though you could theoretically close up the C-section incision and then do a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, the risk of blood clots would be higher.  In addition, you will need your energy to feed and take care of the baby!  Wait and do it later.
