I had a Lapband in 2003 and it was removed due to issues in 2/2017. I've gained approx 30# since. The doc that took out the band would not convert me to Gasric Sleeve due to scar tissue and band erosion. Can any other surgery be done. This doc only does sleeves. I was wondering about bypass? He said the staple line wouldn't work due to scarring but does that not heal ever? I know the medical field does amazing things and I don't see why scar tissue is a problem.

Sleeve gastrectomy is a very safe operation. My lower BMI limit has been 30, but that includes patients with no comorbidities. Surgery might be appropriate in your case as long as you understand the risks involved.
There are many surgeons who are willing to operate on patients who do not meet insurance guidelines. My lower BMI limit is 30. I would need to know your height to complete the complete the calculation.
It will cost you between 15 to 18 thousand in Los Angeles area...
And yes, that is a great idea!
You will get more restriction, less fat absorption and more weight loss...
Actually I recommend the Gastric Bypass for al the failed Sleeve patients as I believe it has less complication rate...
