Hello, I have been getting fillers under my eyes for about two years now and they haven’t been successful. No matter the injection technique, the filler does not stay in the crease (tried all types of them, you name it) and creates an indent that looks worse after it’s filled. Can you somehow avoid this area and fill the cheeks instead to soften the tear troughs somehow? Maybe there’s a technique my injector hasn’t tried yet. Thanks so much for any info you can provide.
Answer: Alternatives To Tear Trough Fillers This is hard to answer without pictures or an in-person examination. Filling the cheeks may improve the appearance of tear trough volume loss, however, most of the time direct injections into the tear troughs will also be needed for optimal correction. You can consider trying a different filler. If all else fails then fat grafting or other surgical options may need to be considered. Injecting the tear troughs requires advanced technique and you should make sure you are under the care of an experienced physician injector. Best wishes.

Answer: Dermal Filler Hi @nellywaer! The upper cheek is a major support for the under eyes. I would first begin with addressing the volume loss in the cheeks followed by addressing the tear trough area. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Any alternatives to filling tear troughs directly? Thank you for your questions. Pictures or an exam would be very helpful. If you have tried multiple fillers to the area with disappointing results, then may I suggest you consider surgery. There is no minimally invasive approach that can offer the results of a surgical approach. And in patients like you that are unhappy with non-invasive correction, then you will likely be better served with a surgical option to achieve the results you are seeking. I suggest you see a local plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery for an evaluation and discussion of your options.Good luck!

Answer: Improving Under Eye with Fillers (Belotero, Volbella, Restylane Silk)--add Fraxel, Microneedling/PRP This is difficult to answer without pictures. Adjusting where you're getting injected may give improvement, but keep in mind, a combination approach will give the most improvement. Fillers, lasers, and microneedling/PRP can improve under the eyes. My patients try to get non surgical treatments to avoid surgery. We use PRP and stem cells there often. I suggest consulting with an expert to develop a treatment plan best suited for your short and long term goals. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Cheek filler to improve appearance of undereyes Yes, a filler like Restylane Lyft could be injected into the midface/cheeks to lift up the face and correct volume loss. This will also improve the appearance of the undereyes in many patients. You may still require undereye filler but this should help.
