Some surgeons like no nail polish to be on your nails as it may interfere with the oxygen monitor. Best to ask your surgeon. It may not be a big deal.
Hi there, thank you for your question. Yes, you can get your nails done 5 days before the surgery but, I do not suggest that because your nails can be broken during whole surgery process.
You might want to hold off. When they trim your cuticles, it can cause a small infection around the fingernail that might prevent your surgery from happening. Also, dark nail polish can make monitoring during surgery more difficult. As always, be sure to research who performs your surgery to ensure the best likelihood of a positive result.
The reason hospitals ask you to remove nail polish is for oxygen monitoring. If you have just polish and no acrylic nails there should not be a problem. However, it is best to check with your specific surgical center or surgeon's office for their recommendations.
Hello, thank you for your question. No its not vital, as this is all to do with an oxygenation measuring probed attached normally to your fingertip. However it can be attached to your earlobe or a toe. I recommend you to talk with your plastic surgeon.
Thank you for your question. Each surgeon will have their own protocol they wish their patients to follow. I would suggest speaking to your surgeon and asking if they recommend that you have no polish on day of surgery. Best of luck to you.
Hi & thanks for your question!Yes, you may have a manicure and pedicure 5 day before surgery. However, you can not have color polish on the day of surgery. Clear polish only. Hope this helps. Best wishes!
We are telling all patients to self-quarantine before and after surgery for at least 7 days, ideally 14. This means limiting all unnecessary gatherings, errands, etc. I am all for a mani, pedi, especially before surgery, but I would urge you to do your homework. Go to a reputable spa, make sure they have good safety measures in place, and plan it about 14 days before surgery to ensure your safety. Its important for you to be well before surgery so you have the best recovery.
It would be best to ask your plastic surgeon. Many surgeons request patients not wear any nail polish.
