Does BBL have the highest mortality rate? (Photo)

Back in 2014 I did a bbl surgery and it went great, but I wanna do it again to get more hips. I spoke with a surgeon in my city about it and he said that BBL actually has the biggest mortality rate.... like 1 out of 3000 death rate. With that being said, I’m genuinely flipping out and getting frustrated, because I still wanna do it, but now I’m ridiculously scared.

The take-home point is that traditional methods of transfer of fat into the gluteal muscles should be abandoned in favor of fat transfer though large cannula to areas directly visible beneath the skin to reduce the risk of fatal fat emboli and patient deaths.
BBLs on thinner women are not easy.  Maximal fat must be harvested without creating any contour deformities. There are a lot of women who can get nice results from the BBL despite thinking that there is not enough fat. as long as your surgeon follows instructions and inject fat above the muscle, the chance for complications should be low. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Well, the jury may still be out but it does seem as though BBL has the highest mortality rate of any cosmetic surgery. The mortality rate is often quoted as 1:3000 and occasionally less up to as good as 1:20,000.  Nonetheless, based upon your photo you seem quite lean and athletic and thus someone who will not do well with fat transfer to the hip area, where it tends to survive the worst. Because of all this, you may want to consider cosmetic hip implants which are more reliable and of course a permanent result. Glad to be of help.

The best thing you can do to prevent complications is consult a board certified plastic surgeon. The risk is always there, but it is incredibly low. The optimal BBL outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients.
