I am 23 and interested in a BBL. I have had crohns since I was 16. I have been on a Remicade infusion and take it every 6 weeks. I have not been hospitalized in almost 2 years. I have mild flare ups sometimes, less than often. Am I still a good candidate?

Answer: BBL with Crohn's Hello m.cokex, as long as you are otherwise a good candidate (ie, no other medical problems, acceptable height/weight, etc), and you don't have an acute flair of your crohn's, you should be ok to have a BBL. However, you would want your plastic surgeon to be in communication with your GI doc both to get the ok and to help manage your medication regimen in the perioperative period. You could probably plan to have the procedure toward the latter end of your injection interval. Hope this helps! Thanks, Brian

Answer: Being a candidate for a BBL My best guess is that your gastroenterologist might consider giving you clearance for an elective surgical procedure if this is something very important to you. There may be some increased risk with your procedure and it would be who’ve you to confirm that you’re a good candidate from the procedure from a plastic surgeons perspective as well. A lot of people want to have certain body changes but they’re simply not great candidates for the procedure while other people are spectacular candidates. Talk to plastic surgeons about being a candidate for the procedure and your gastroenterologist about having elective surgical procedures. You will need both doctors to be in agreement.
