Is BioCorneum Plus recommended while healing a wound/scar when the person's scars have a pattern of hypopigmenting at maturity?

My doc's ofc recommended BioCorneum Plus to help w/ scarring on areas that were injured 10 days ago. I read about BioCorneum being good for raised/discolored scars. Since my scars tend to hypopigment & end up flat/white, is it a good idea while in the healing process to use a scar cream that helps w/ raised/discolored scars? Since the cream lightens dark scars, can it make scars on those who hypopigment end up lighter/worse? I want to listen to my doctor, but it seems counter-intuitive.
