Is biocorneum better than scarguard for facelift scars? (Photo)

Question

I was given biocorneum by my plastic surgeon's PAC following my facelift. I asked her what I should get once I ran out(was only given a 20 g botttle)--she said any OTC scar cream. I have looked online, and don't see anything about the effectiveness of biocorneum. I purchased scarguard at the local drug store not knowing how bad it smelled, that it needs to be painted on, can't be in the hairline, and that it has to be removed. Please help. Thank you.

I would recommend Plato's Scar Serum twice daily followed by fractional lasers and pulsed dye laser.

Our office likes BioCorneum very much and recommends it to patients like yourself with scars.  It is a silicone base, with additional medicine.  We believe that it helps get good results in our incisional lines.  We see it as continuing the care of the patient's wounds. We usually start it at 3 seeks post procedure.  It is medical grade and supposed to be found only in a Physician's office or hospital.  Please speak with your surgeon about his/her particular protocol.  Many surgeons have different protocols and get good results.  Please call with questions.Jeffrey J.
