At what age do women normally start getting crepey neck? I'm about to turn 38 and a couple of months ago my neck started developing delicate, verical lines that I believe are called crepey neck. This is so out of the blue and to me seems abnormal for someone in their late 30's. The wrinkles look a tad worse in person versus the photo. Thank you.
Answer: About Neck Lifts and Who is a Candidate Neck lifts are designed to remove only deep grooves and #wrinkles, not fine ones. Smoothing out every tiny line in your face would leave you with an eerie, unnatural, and undesirable result. The goal should be to make your neck lift look as natural as possible, simply turning back the clock a few years. A neck lift is not a singular procedure with a singular #method, but rather is an umbrella term describing a large range of operations with varying #incisions and skin-lifting #techniques, which have been developed and improved upon over the years. Your board certified plastic surgeon will be familiar and able to pair you with your perfect match of surgical approaches based on your skin type and desired results. The type of necklift incision will depend upon your gender, your hairline and preferred hairstyles, any scars from previous surgeries, and a variety of other factors. As a general rule, a #necklift #incision starts right in front of or within the hairline on the temple, follows the curve of the front of the ear, travels underneath the earlobe, and ends at the hairline behind the ear. There are also shorter #scar techniques preferred by many patients, which do not have incisions in the hairline. Some patients who wish to have liposuction or tightening of their neck will need an additional incision under their #chin, which can be hidden in a natural skin fold.During your initial examination, your chin will be evaluated along with the neck and jawline. A weak #chin implies a lack of chin support for the skin along the neck line. In younger individuals a chin implant alone is usually all that is needed to improve the appearance of the neck. Subsequently, it will also improve the overall #balance of the face and can create the illusion of a smaller nose. As a stand-alone procedure, chin augmentation can be performed in the office under local #anesthesia. For individuals with signs of #aging in the neck, a chin implant added to one of the recommended procedures above, will provide optimal results. If you are not a candidate at the time of your #consultation, your board certified plastic surgeon can recommend alternatives to address your concern. Consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in #neck lift procedures is important to ensure you are receiving the best advice, care, and surgical experience possible.

Answer: Neck Wrinkles The aging of the neck is a complex and multi-factorial process. There are factors out of your control such as genetics, skin quality, and anatomy, and then factors you can control such as skin care, habits (smoking, etc), and sun exposure. There is no "typical" age for these changes to happen, but I would say that women often start to present with complaints such as these in their 30s. Now that is not to say that women in their 30s require surgical treatment of these issues. My suggestion would be to discuss your concerns with a local plastic surgeon and see what options are available to you. You may need something as minimal as a regimen of scar care products. Or you may be a candidate for less invasive treatments such as peels, skin tightening, or botox. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Creepy skin development in the neck Inelasticity and creepy skin the neck can occur from a variety of factors such as genetics, significant weight loss, sun exposure and smoking. Some patients skin becomes inelastic in their 30s, while other patients don't begin until age 60. Noninvasive treatments can be used in the 30s, but once patients are in their 50s and 60s and have significant elasticity,a lower face and neck lift is required. For many examples of lower face and neck lift procedures, please see the link and the video below
