Bad smell behind ears after 2 weeks post facelift, is this just temporary?

Two weeks ago I had a complete facelift, everything is OK (facelift wise, haha) the scars have / are healing fine but there is not a very nice smell coming out of that area (where the sacar is, again behind the ears), kind of EXCUSE THE GRAPHIC EXPLNATION, cheese type (dated, haha). Please tell me is temporary...

It is not common to have a foul odor coming from your surgical sites.  I strongly recommend you contact your surgeon for evaluation to be sure you do not have an infection.

HI,No, it is not normal to have this smell.Please go see your plastic surgeon or his nurse for an exam.You might also ask someone to look behind your ears. The area might need to be cleaned. Best to see your own surgeon first, however.Good Luck,Dr. Christine Rodgers

I would say that it is not usual to have a bad smell behind the ears 2 weeks after a facelift.  I would recommend contacting your surgeon so that you can be examined in person.  The examination would be needed to try and determine what might be causing the problem.

Hi - I would for sure go see your physician and have then take a look.  That area is very tucked in and would be difficult for you to get a good view yourself.  Your physician will be able to have the lighting and help to pull your ear up and out of the way to make sure nothing is going on.

Hi, I have performed many facelifts for over 30 years and have performed many minimally, invasive SMAS facelifts.  It's extremely unusual to have any odor coming from behind the ears or any part of the facelift incision.  You should call and see your Facelift Surgeon for evaluation as soon as possible to rule out an infection or skin slough.
