Pulled out scab 8 days post op from certain area. Will it grow back hair from that area? (Photo)

You will not be able to tell until you see the results in several months.What is done is done.  If you are looking for an answer to assuage your fears, I am sure you will find a suitable answer if you look long enough.

Usually after 8 days it should be ok.  It would be a good idea to check with your doctor though to make sure.

If the scabs that you cleaned had the follicle attached to it then you have lost the graft.  However most of the time, the hair shaft falls off with the scabs and the follicle still remains under the skin.  In that case the hair will start to grow in after a few months. 

I wrote an authoritative article on this very subject. We found out that grafts could be pulled out and no grow if there was a scab on it and the scab was pulled out. This is a no-no. The best thing to do is to wash your hair vigorously with a sponge, never rubbing, but just pressing out a shampoo solution until all of the scabs are gone, this can be done in the first one or two days after a hair transplant over the recipient area. Pulling off scabs, cause loss of grafts. That is what my article conclusion were.

To me it's always not good to remove scabs intentionally before 10/15thbpost operative day .... Even if the it's been taken up but if you pull it intentionally it can interfere with the new papilla .... The natural process should never be interrupted at all ..... You can avoid scab formation by good cleanings and this cleaning should be started on day 2 .... Otherwise up to 15th postoperative day I advise the patients to shampoo by patting on the head ....in this case I think he has lost his hair in the area from where he removed the scabs ....
