I have a desk job and researching a BBL. How do I navigate this?

Question

I work a desk job with intense hours. My desk is sit only. How long should I expect to be off work? If I return to work 10 days post op, what can I do to still ensure the best results?

Many of my patients return to work after 7 to 14 days if that work is sedentary or nonstrenuous. A week is probably OK with a conservative buttock augmentation of 600 cc to 800 cc per buttock.  If you are going in the 1200 cc to 1800 cc per buttock range, you may need 10 to 14 days. For most patients strenuous activity can be resumed in 6 weeks. I recommend that my patients minimize sitting, even with a pillow, for the first two weeks.  If they must sit, every 30 minutes or an hour, they should get up and stand for a few seconds to take the pressure off.   This reduces the chance for fat necrosis. I usually recommend about 6 weeks before sitting without a pillow. question. In general, it is recommended that patients do not sit or put weight
on their buttocks for at least two to three weeks after a Brazilian Butt Lift.
Once you do begin sitting for small periods, a specialized donut or cushion can
help ensure your full weight is not on your bottom. Remember, the transferred
fat is delicate, living tissue. To ensure optimal results, this fat must have
adequate time to heal and adhere to the existing tissue. I recommend speaking
to your operating surgeon about his/her recommendation for time off, from your
desk job, after your Brazilian Butt Lift. Carefully follow your surgeon’s
post-op advice, which may mean taking more time off from work, if needed.

I prefer patients do not sit directly on their buttocks for 2-3 weeks and only for brief periods of time. Using a special bbl pillow keeping the buttocks off the chair is ideal.

Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well.If you can get a little more time off work try yo do it. Anyway after a BBL you'll need to sit in a boppy pillow all the time and make the best you can trying to stand up as much as possible.I recommend you to get in touch with your plastic surgeon to talk about your case and his/her recommendations.Good luck :)

Hello and thank you for your excellent question. There are a few options. First, you can modify your workplace so that you can stand while you work. Second, you can get a BBL buttock pillow, and only sit for 10 - 15 minutes at a time before you take a break standing. Of course, you will need an in-person consultation to evaluate you for this procedure. Preoperative visualization and surgical simulation with the Crisalix system may help with your decision. Any treatment plan should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.    Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation in person with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
