The compression garment varies with the plastic surgeon. I do not recommend a garment or faja that is extremely tight over the buttocks. I typically ask patients to use adjustable garments with multiple bands so that tension can be adjusted and the areas of liposuction are less likely to get a fluid collection. The garments typically do not cover the buttocks. The key here is the size and the ability to tighten the garment, not the brand or make. In my practice, the compression garments are provided as part of the BBL post op package.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Each doctor is different and you are correct some recommend them and others do not. There is not strong evidence that they do anything.
A "faja" or compression garment is essential after liposuction and/or BBL. The garment I use for BBLs has a window or fine gossamer of material over the butt so there is no pressure and potential deformation.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question. But, like everything in life there's always two sides. Most of plastic surgeons use faja because it helps the body shape, the swollen, stick the skin back again, avoid the fluids from building up, and other aspects. And, in the other hand, there are some plastic surgeons that says the faja will flat your buttocks, they can burn the skin or even cause some minor traumas. All depend on the results each doctor has seen in their work experience.Hope this could help and good luck :)
Hello and thank you for your excellent question. We do not use a Faja, per se, but rather a garment that is specifically used for BBL patients. Of course, you will need an in-person consultation to evaluate you for this procedure. Preoperative visualization and surgical simulation with the Crisalix system may help with your decision. Any treatment plan should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation in person with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck! In time with good surgical care this should close, YOu should not take care of this yourself but be treated by a surgeon.
Fat embolus is a very serious and known complication of fat transfer (which has been recently spotlighted in the media). While it is true, injection of donor fat into the infra-muscular plane (within the muscle) increases fat viability this does come with a significant increase in risk. There...
Most patients would likely say that recovery from a fat transfer to the buttock (BBL) is more difficult due to the limitations of positioning afterwards. You should avoid direct sitting for a few weeks and sleep on your stomach during that time period. The breast augmentation involves creating a...
