BBLs are generally a safe procedure, but nonetheless, as with all procedures, it is a serious procedure. For this reason, you should definitely see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Additional medical problems are always a concern, but can be addressed by your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon based on your current state of health. Basically, if you're healthy, you can have plastic surgery without increasing your risks. Best wishes.
Thanks for your question.A Brazilian Butt Lift is an elective cosmetic procedure and as such patients should be healthy. That being said, with the proper pre-operative clearance from a cardiologist a BBL may be possible. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.Take care,Moises Salama M.D., Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
Hi- So before you have any elective surgical procedures your surgeon to have you cleared medically by your primary care physician to be sure that you do not have any contra-indication for general anesthesia. Often the pre-operative clearance would include blood work, EKG, and Chest X-ray if deemed necessary to be sure that is is safe for you to have the operation. Your safety is the most important thing and your surgeon should make sure there are no concerns before proceeding.
Dear cswirl80,Thank you for your question. Several factors go into evaluating you gor surgery. Your overall health i scetainly one of them. I have my patients get medical clearance first. If you are stble from a cardiac standpoint and have been cleared by your Cardiologist then I would not deny you the procedure. I woud wnat your to be seen and cleared by your cario;ogist first however. I would want you to be Cardiac symptom free for at least 6 mos and I would want to do your procedure in the hospital with an overnight stay.Hope this helpsJames Sheridan, MDAustin, TX
Hi, and thank you for the question A very interesting question, sorry to tell you that there is not straight answer to your question. because it will depend on a few issues like: -Why was the stent needed (what type of coronary obstruction you had, and is it resolved)-Risks factors like age, smoking, other conditions (diabetes, pulmonary disease, etc)-Your current medical status-Size of the procedure. As you can understand studies and test are needed to see if you are clear for surgery but in general, if you seek the attention of a certified plastic surgeon, you should have a great result and a normal life. So feel free to contact us for further evaluation. Thank you again and have a great day
Hi thank you for your excellent question. Most of my patients from out of town stay in Miami for about 4-5 days, allowing them enough time to become mobile as well as attend their post-op follow up appointments. During the flight home itself, patients can sit on a BBL pillow or rolled up towel b...
Thanks for your question. It depends on your goal for the BBL and how your fat is distributed throughout your body. If you desire a dramatic change, I think it's best to have some extra fat for the procedure rather than not enough. That being said, I don't recommend you lose all the weight t...
Thank you for your question. It is not an option to use someone else's fat for your BBL. The fat will be rejected by your body. Be sure to have a board certified plastic surgeon examine you to determine how much fat can be harvested and from where on your body. Hope this helps.Best,Dr. Newall
