Why is my JP drain output still the same, not decreasing at all, 10 days post op?

Thank you for your question. It is not unusual for a drain to continue with output like this after a procedure. This is why the drain was placed. I would recommend following your surgeon's instructions regarding care and activity. With time the drain will likely decrease and be able to be removed, but this can often take several weeks. Best of luck!

The amount of drainage can be variable. I recommend following up with your Doctor about your concerns. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. It is important that you continue to follow up with your surgeon and follow his or her post op instructions. This output amount would not be uncommon at this point.

The fact that your drain is still putting out fluid is good because that is preventing fluid accumulation and seroma.  Following a hematoma  it can take more time for the residual blood to liquefy and drain out.  Of course follow up with your plastic surgeon.
