I am trying to find a decent garment for after thigh lipo. Is a simple pair of tight workout leggings enough? or should I find something more like a medical grade leg girdle ?
Answer: Liposuction Garment Thank you for your question. I would stick with a medical grade compression garment. This material is designed for what you need. I am not sure about leggings so it is best to stick on the safe side.Hope this helps,Dr. Newall

Answer: You need real liposuction compression garments post op. The first 4 weeks you need real lipo garments for adequate compression but then after 1 month you can get by with the sports compression leggings etc....Exercising is so important and start our patients exercising in 1 week post op.

Answer: Compression Garment Question--Ask Doctor and Add Hyperbaric Oxygen, Massage, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra, Cellutone to aftercare I recommend following up with your Doctor about what compression garment they recommend. My patients use customized compression. Swelling can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Post-Op Garments Your board certified plastic surgeon will guide you to the best garment for your post-op course. My patients get a garment with their surgery and wake up wearing it. Most store-bought garments are not ideal for the "first stage" garment immediately after surgery. They are more like "second stage" or stepdown garments. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Are sports compression garments, ( like tight underarmour leggings) enough compression after thigh liposuction? Adequate compression is very important particularly and thigh liposuction surgery. The thigh skin is thick and because of gravitational pull tends to sag after liposuction. For this reason I prefer laser liposuction because the laser provides 22% skin tightening. The specific compression garments made for liposuction provided very significant compression of the thigh skin and I prefer that the special garments be worn for the first week to 10 days after liposuction of the thighs. After one week to 10 days sports compression garments or spanks will suffice.
